THE BLUE-FOOTED DANCER

❃ Standing out against the rocky shores and blue waters of the Pacific, the blue-footed booby is one of the most unmistakable seabirds in the world. Its sturdy body, long pointed wings, and striking turquoise-blue feet give it a comical yet captivating appearance, while its piercing eyes and distinctive bill complete the look of a bird perfectly adapted to life along the coast.

❃ Those brilliant blue feet are more than decoration. During courtship, males proudly lift and display their feet in an exaggerated dance, stepping high and slowly waving their wings to impress a potential mate. The intensity of the blue can also provide clues about the bird's condition, making its famous footwork both a spectacle and an important part of reproduction.

❃ Blue-footed boobies spend much of their lives over the open ocean, diving dramatically from the air to plunge into the water after fish and other prey. They gather on rocky islands and coastal areas across the eastern Pacific, where their bold courtship displays and unmistakable blue feet have made them one of the sea's most memorable birds.

When It Arrives

Your plush travels inside our satchel, and some designs may be vacuum-sealed to keep them protected and compact during their journey. Don’t worry if yours looks a little flattened when first unpacked — the filling is designed to bounce back and simply needs a little time and fluffing to take its full shape.

Bringing it back to form:

1. Remove it from the packaging as soon as it arrives — don’t leave it packed.

2. Give it a good fluff — gently knead the body and work the limbs, wings, ears, or tail to redistribute the filling.

3. Let it breathe. Most plush regain their full shape within 1–3 days, while larger or denser designs can take up to a week.

4. Smooth any flattened or creased fur with your fingers or a soft brush as it fluffs back up.

5. Want to speed things up? Use a hairdryer on low, warm heat, held about 20cm away. Keep it moving and use short bursts between fluffs. Never use high heat.

Plush make this journey every day and naturally bounce back after being unpacked. If yours still isn’t looking like itself after a week, write to us at support@mythicalwoods.com and we’ll make it right.

Care: Spot clean with mild soap. Air dry

I saw an ad for your shop in Instagram and I wanted to check y'all out, price is a bit steep but a very high quality product and it's fun having a plushie of the random little critters that mostly get ignored.
