Ghary, the Gharial, is thrilled to be cuddled. Though he has many family member pals, Cappy (a manatee) and Nebbie (a plesiosaurus) are keeping him company in this photo today. Our family loves gators - we have towel gators, pillow gators, card gators, dinner gators (someone has to make us dinner), folding gators, hammock gators, and so many more. They started showing up over 20 years ago, and it's amazing how a new one pops from time to time. Although alligaotrs and caimans, gharials, and crocodiles, are in different Families in the Crocodilia Order, we tend to think of them all as gators. We are intrigued by them and gators have a warm spot in our heart.
